League News
2018 Updates and Changes

Dear NWAL Users,

I know the 2017 season has ended but we are already ramping things up for the 2018 season.

We will be doing some updates to NWAL Certified this year.  We will keep the functionality to the site but we will be doing some enhancements to make things easier for all of our users.  As many of you have sent emails regarding VOD’s that didn’t get uploaded, please hold those and we will let you know when you can get those uploaded. Many had issues and we are working to eliminate those issues with upload with the new improved site.

A new change for this year is that Swim Team US and Swimtopia have merged to take the
best of both products and make them One.  This will be happening soon and we will be getting more details to share with the league as very soon.

Rich will be working for Swimtopia and will be working with them on data migration, Meet Manager, and Meet vision.  This will be a win win for NWAL from support to upgraded enhancements to the NWAL sites.

As we get more information we will share with everyone on how this will impact all of the teams in NWAL.

Wanted you to hear of the upgrades and changes here first and please look for more information to come.

2016 RWB Invitational
From RWB Invititatiol: We would like to revise our announcement as follows: Due to the NWAL rule change, CFSC will be amending their announcement as follows: All times must be Official times that are the swimmer?s best times, for both individual and relay events, and have been made at a sanctioned NWAL meet or sanctioned Invitational during the 2016 NWAL season as stated in the NWAL rule book under Seeding. An Official Time is one that was swum without disqualification at a meet which was sanctioned by NWAL in the current season. No Time Trial times are allowed for individual or relay entries. As per Divisional rules, swimmers must have swum in at least one NWAL sanctioned meet during the current season to be eligible to swim at this Invitational. Entries submitted with NT (no time) will not be permitted and will be deleted from the meet. The seed time for relays must be established by adding the fastest official times of the individual swimmers entered in the relay for the stroke they are swimming. Do not convert the swimmer?s times by hand and enter them into the custom time box. Thank you. Carolyn deerjc@aol.com If you have any questions regarding RWB, please contact Carolyn directly. 2016 NWAL Gives Back Initiative with Divisional Awards

Good Morning Division Reps, Team Reps and Team Presidents,

It is with great excitement that I announce the next phase of the NWAL Gives Back initiative, which was announced in January with a first ever reduction in team dues.

Today, with the League Officers having spent a great deal of time and effort on prudent fiscal management over the last 12 months, I am very happy to inform you that this year NWAL will be able to pick up ALL the costs associated with your standard divisional trophies, medals and ribbons for every team in the League.  NWAL is very excited to be able to do this as we know these costs can be quite steep, especially for smaller teams.

Please do not worry if you have already placed an order with Hasty as you will be credited back for that order.  If you have not yet done so, please go ahead and place your order as soon as practicable with Hasty at 800-448-7714

I wish to reiterate, that NWAL is only in a position to do this by managing our costs very actively.  All expenditures have been and will continue to be aggressively monitored.  This is our responsibility to the League and to our kids and it is one we take very seriously.

Best Regards,

Matt Sale

President

Meet Management  https://youtu.be/Knws4UcJcq4

There is a generic STUS Meet Management video that can help you with the decision process of whether your team wants to make that change to managing your meet entries in STUS.  This functionality was well test by one of our divisions last year.  I am so excited to use it this year and eliminate some of the challenges we had with HyTek.  All of our NWAL Rules are written directly into the software, so we as users do not have to worry.  The Exchange is so easy and the reporting is great too.  Please don’t hesitate to contact me directly with any questions after viewing the You Tube

Once you find Rich Waldis on You Tube, you will also find many more videos to answer your lingering questions.  Take the time to check them out.

One burning question for my team with new Board Members, HOW TO SEND EMAILS THRU STUS
